Portions of the Tongariro Crossing have reopened after the recent Te Maari eruptions. The Northern Circuit, one of New Zealand’s Great Walks is also operational. Please note that Mangatepopo Road is closed and access to the Tongariro Crossing must be made via a registered shuttle company. Contact our reception staff to discuss Alpine Crossings options.

The Department of Conservation will re assess the status of The Tongariro Alpine Crossing in early February.
